The Madonna Sistina, by Giuseppe Armani
Full Product Description

Full Product Description

Giuseppe Armani's portrayal of Raphael's Sistine Madonna.  Raphael painted his Madonna in the year 1512, when he was commissioned by Pope Julius to create an altarpiece for the Church of San Sisto, in Piacenza.  This painting was to be the last one that Raphael would finish with his own hand.  Giuseppe Armani's sculpture brings Raphael's Madonna into the dimensional realm, imparting yet another aspect to the beauty of the original piece.  Missing in Armani's figurine, however, are "Raphael's cherubs", which Raphael had placed at the Madonna's feet.

This figurine is 13 inches in height, as measured from the top of the Madonna's halo.
